7 Everyday habits for healthy hair - Maria Alberts. #haircare
Every girl dreams of long, luscious, healthy hair that we see on models and celebrities. Having healthy hair is not a difficult task, a small series of habits will make your hair softer, longer and overall healthier. Personally, since I cut my hair short I have been focusing so much on having healthy hair and taking care of it properly. As should anyone that is dreaming of beautiful hair. It is not hard work to keep your hair healthy. By making these small tweaks to your routine you will have the healthy hair you have always been dreaming of. 1. Avoid heat This means straighteners, curlers and blow-dryers. Using heat styling too much will damage your hair, making it brittle and dry, leading to split ends and breakage. And those times you use heat styling you HAVE TO use heat protector! It will serve as a barrier between your hair and the tool, preventing damage. 2. Finish off with cold water Completing your shower with a blast of cold water will make a big difference when it comes to your hair. Too hot water will strip your hair of its natural oils and make your hair colour fade faster (if you have a coloured hair). So try keeping your showers luke-warm. By turning the temperature down as low as you can handle, you will help your hair lock in moisture, preserve your hair colour and help your hair cuticles close. A bonus, it will also help your skin! 3. Trim your hair regularly Okay I must admit, I am a big offender of never getting my hair trimmed. While it may seem counterproductive to cut your hair when you are trying to grow it out. Trimming your hair on the regular will actually help your hair grow longer. When you go too long in between appointments, your ends will split, break and dry out. Getting your hair regularly trimmed will prevent this, and help your hair become longer and look healthier. 4. Don’t wash too much There is a reason dry-shampoo was invented. To prevent you from washing your hair too often. Washing your hair too often will remove the oils that your hair naturally has, making it dehydrated. 5. Deep conditioning mask every week Incorporating a deep conditioner or a hair mask in your weekly routine will help keep your hair healthier. By providing moisture and protection, a good hair mask can be a lifesaver. If you are struggling with dry hair I highly recommend the Aussie 3 minutes Miracle Moist Deep Treatment. 6. Limit sun exposure The sun can damage your hair in the same way that it can damage your skin. The sun can seriously damage your hair, making it brittle, dry, discoloured, frizzy and even thinning of the hair. So use a good SPF spray like this one to protect your hair from the sun. 7. Nutrition And no, I am not talking about the “hair growth vitamins” that seemingly every celeb is using. I am talking about eating the foods that will help your hair grow stronger. A diet high in protein, Omega 3 acids, collagen and biotin will help maintaining healthy hair. Also read: How to take care of your hair during the winter Until next time, Continue Reading..
